Cardiomyocyte Simulations

The Kyoto-ETS-ROS model is depicted. A few important model outputs of this model are given which demonstrates the physiological accuracy of the model and its predictions on pseudo steady-state levels of ROS, H2O2 emission, and O2 consumption. In these simulations, the mitochondrial volume fraction was 30%. Extra-cellular antioxidant activities were taken from prior work. NCE, Na+/Ca2+ exchanger; SERCA, smooth endoplasmic reticulum Ca2+ pump, ICaL, L-type Ca2+ channel; IKATP ATP-dependent K+ channel; INa, Na+ channel; IKr,s K+ rectifier channels; Tn-C, troponin-C.
